Feds cite Sloth Encounters for critical violations following Humane Long Island complaint

The August 10th inspection report—which was just released to the public—shows that Sloth Encounters was cited for interfering with APHIS inspectors carrying out their duties and for handling animals in a way that is dangerous to the animals and the public, apparently after a person was bitten by a sloth and Wallach and employees attempted to cover it up. A second newly released USDA inspection report cited Wallach for violating the Animal Welfare Act after he failed to tell USDA inspectors where the baby sloths were kept when the business was closed and failed to provide inspectors with a written program of veterinary care for their review.
