New York bans elephants from circuses and traveling acts

Following years of leading protests on Long Island and throughout New York City, Humane Long Island is proud to celebrate the signing of the “Elephant Protection Act"! Starting in two years, elephants will be barred from being used in circuses and other performances in New York and gives authorities the power to impose a fine of up to $1,000 for every violation.

Humane Long Island will continue our protests of circuses and wild animal acts until all animals are free from the same exploitation!
