Party Pets of New York shuts down its Malverne petting zoo and retires the animals to reputable sanctuaries

Humane Long Island worked with Party Pets of New York to shut down its Malverne petting zoo and retire three sheep, two dozen chickens, 20 ducks, a goose, and a turkey to reputable sanctuaries.

Many of the birds were suffering from bumblefoot infections, eye infections, and one even had a broken leg. However, after extensive rehabilitation at Humane Long Island’s Riverhead shelter, they are now all safe in forever homes.

Party Pets owner Andre Ricaud said of the effort, “They’ve been placed in great homes. and I know they’re not going to be eaten or destroyed. I’m happy that they’ve their forever homes."
